PreBirdie ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit prebirdie.com or use our golf community services — including course reviews, community forums, featured brands, custom club services, marketplace, and trip planning.

By using our services you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.

  • Account credentials (hashed password, OAuth tokens)
  • Golf handicap index and skill level
  • Travel and trip planning preferences
  • Payment information (tokenized — we never store raw card numbers)

  • IP address and approximate location (country / region)
  • Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers

Data Retention

  • Account data — retained for the life of your account plus 2 years after deletion.
  • Inquiry / lead data — retained for up to 3 years or until you request deletion.
  • Transaction records — retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations.
  • Newsletter subscriber data — retained until you unsubscribe and request deletion.
  • Cookie / analytics data — Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure; in the event of a data breach we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

Your Rights (GDPR & EEA Users)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland you have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw any consent you have given at any time (this will not affect processing that already took place).

Your Rights (California / CCPA)

California residents have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to Know — request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties we share it with.
  • Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions).
  • Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out mechanism.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by the CPRA.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email and by posting the updated policy here with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
